In Fragments of My Soul, Almasri’s paintings transcend medium and geography. They speak of human endurance, memory, and hope, where bold lines and saturated hues become metaphors for struggle and renewal

Working within the lineage of Arab Modernism, Almasri fuses figurative abstraction, Cubist structure, and Expressionist intensity with cultural and folkloric themes. Farmers, shepherds, and families populate his canvases, reflecting a deep connection between Palestinian life and the landscape, anchoring his modernist experimentation in lived experience and collective memory.

Born in Homs, Syria, and a graduate of Damascus University’s Faculty of Fine Arts (1977), Almasri has long affirmed Palestinian identity through artistic innovation. After moving to Qatar, he channelled his sculptural sensibility into painting, creating works that retain the discipline of mass and form while expanding into a new pictorial language.
