We are happy to share the updated logo of al markhiya gallery — a refreshed symbol that reflects our vision and commitment to the arts. For over 16 years, al markhiya gallery has celebrated emerging and established artists from the Arab world. This updated logo represents not only our journey so far, but also our continued dedication to supporting creativity, culture, and innovation across the region.
The al markhiya gallery logo draws its inspiration from the actual physical shape of the area known as al markhiya, one of the oldest communities in Doha, Qatar. The appearance of the neighbourhood, when seen from an aerial viewpoint, appears similar in shape to that of a butterfly. al markhiya gallery chose to use this butterfly form to represent our mission of promoting artistic expression and creative development in Doha. Accents of color in the logo reference an artist’s palette and also illustrate the variety of artists that al markhiya gallery supports in their creative development. The design also represents al markhiya’s aim to nurture emerging talents from the city of Doha, throughout Qatar, and the Arab World while providing support for more established artists as well.
