Artists Intensive Study Programme
First Edition Exhibition

The collaboration between the Fire Station: Centre for Contemporary Art Practices and almarkhiya gallery presents works by selected artists from the Artists Intensive Study Programme (AISP). Extending beyond the main AISP exhibition, the presentation brings together works that continue the existing projects and explore related ideas and lines of inquiry.

Reflecting on the artists’ time in Doha, the works speak to the experiences, exchanges and conversations that shaped their participation in the programme. Their connections reveal how a shared period of learning and working together can inform distinct perspectives and open new directions. Rather than following a single theme, the presentation allows a dialogue to emerge between the works and the concepts that shaped them.

Situated within the Fire Station campus, almarkhiya gallery offers an additional context for encountering the artists’ work. The collaboration extends the AISP exhibition while creating an opportunity for audiences to consider the relationships between the works and the ways in which a shared experience in Doha continues to resonate through their individual approaches and maintains the gallery’s original mission of promoting, exhibiting, and selling works by Qatari and Arab contemporary artists.
