al markhiya gallery is pleased to present the work of Qatari artist Bouthayna Al Muftah in Handmade by — Part II, an international group exhibition at Galerie Deschler in Berlin, opening during Berlin Art Week.
Bouthayna Al Muftah presents Brushing Her Hair, a work exploring women, memory, heritage, and the transmission of cultural practices across generations. Through thread, ink, and paper, the work reflects on the intimate gestures of brushing and braiding hair as acts through which personal and collective memories are preserved, shared, and reinterpreted.
