Doha, November 26 (QNA) - An exhibition by Qatari artist Ali Hassan titled "Noon" (meaning the letter N) opened Tuesday at Al Markhiya Gallery located in Fire Station.
Lasting until mid-January 2025, the exhibition includes 33 artworks themed on the letter N.
"Noon" represents Ali Hassan's 50-year journey exploring the aesthetic and beauty of Arabic letters by using different materials and colors that highlight their symbolism and artistic aspects.
In statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Qatari artist said that following 21 solo exhibitions, "Noon" marks the first one in his career entirely dedicated to the letter N.
Ali Hassan, who received the Appreciative and Incentivising State Awards on Sciences, Arts and Literature in 2005, is one of the pioneers of visual arts in Qatar.
He participated in solo and group exhibitions in Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Saudi Arabia, France, Korea, Turkiye, Morocco, Hong Kong, the United States (US), Germany and Switzerland.
Ali Hassan's artworks can be seen in notable places such as Hamad International Airport and the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ).
His works are acquired by prestigious museums and art institutions in Qatar, the United Kingdom (UK), the US, Egypt, Singapore, China and Jordan, as well as private and public collections in both Qatar and Turkiye.
