Doha, December 12 (QNA) - Al Markhiya Gallery at the Fire Station on Tuesday opened the exhibition of the Qatari artist, Salman Al Malek, themed: "Color Transformations, Realizations in Human Form".
The exhibition showcases 47 artistic paintings professionally distributed to the hall of Al Markhiya Gallery and portrays a special journey in the massive imaginative worlds.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the meaning of the title of his masterpiece, Salman Al Malek pointed out that people who follow up on his artistic career will see that he boldly uses colors with extreme density, adding that through this current experience he wanted to excel and outperform himself by trying white and black colors with their varying degrees, granting the recipients the freedom to look for the latent colors in those colors, outlining that this experience is an attempt to explore for new colors and avoid recurrence.
In the same context, Al Malek stressed that such an experience is subject to addition and deletion, indicating that if the artist continued to offer the same thing, he would end up with artistic and innovative sterility, pointing out that his masterpiece which varies between the works he had accomplished in the last 10 years and heretofore, seek to add new features.
Drawing and painting are an existential matter, where artists find themselves since they have the potential to hold between 3 to 4 exhibitions, he said.
During these artworks, a new artistic form is showcased which is somehow different from artworks the audience has been accustomed to, Al Malek affirmed, adding that he has recently reached a new artistic station after he has been depicting women's traditional cloak, now he pivots towards more universal dimensions targeting the human in general away from woman as a basic individual.
Al Malek said he has resorted to other words that vividly help enrich the paintings with visual stimulation which are captivating artworks for recipients, adding that he strives to discover the colors in the paintings through visual imagination.
He outlined that the visual artworks in the Qatari cultural scene are unique compared to the other artistic expressions and cultures, confirming that he never misses artistic events held across the country, as the key challenge is to showcase a distinguished artwork that touches upon life and beauty. He hailed the role of Al Markhiya Gallery in organizing this exhibition, along with the roles of the private and public sectors performed in the cultural venue in general and the artwork in particular through encouraging the innovators.
In remarks to QNA, the artistic Youssef Ahmed Ali lauded the artworks of Al Malek and his artistic trailblazing locally and globally, adding that Al Malek is one of the most renowned Qatari artists and a pioneer of the artwork, and it is not strange for the audience to be introduced to the artworks of this mature artist the owner of the enriched experience.
