For more than half a century, Yousef Ahmad has continued an unceasing journey of artistic exploration, shaping from the palm tree and the spirit of his homeland a unique visual language that tells the memory of the land and its people. A restless artist who never repeats himself, he constantly experiments and innovates, drawing inspiration from Qatari heritage and the beauty of its environment to make identity a living, evolving material for creation.
When he asked himself, “Why not make paper from Qatar’s palms?”, a new story began. From palm fronds came paper, and from paper came art transforming the palm from a tree in his courtyard into a partner in creativity and giving, a source of meaning, memory, and color.
In every work, his touch breathes through paper born from the same soil, turning matter into memory and identity into living art a timeless bond between art and nature.
