Anfal Al Kandari is a Kuwaiti / Qatari visual artist based in Qatar. Working primarily in drawing and painting she is also interested in digital art and installations. During her MA studies in Visual Arts at the University of the Arts London (UAL), Al Kandari pushed her art practice a step further, transforming and translating her personal experiences to the audience into an accessible visual language.
Recently she has been exploring themes such as the inner child, the dark and light shadow within human self, and parallel universes. Through each project Al Kandari works to make these experiences inclusive and interactive, sparking audience curiosity and inviting them to self-reflect. Al Kandari has showcased her work at Doha Fire Station, almarkhiya gallery and the Ajyal Film Festival. She has been artist in resident at The Cité internationale des arts in Paris, as part of the Paris Residency Program at the Fire Station, and also at GlogauAIR in Berlin.
