Born in Amman, Jordan 1969. Hilda Hiary earned a degree in Political Science from the University of Jordan 1990. During her studies, she was an active member of the University of Jordan Art Workshop for four years, exhibiting her paintings in various countries and galleries. She continued her education at Al-Zaytoonah University in Amman, obtaining a degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in printmaking in 2004.
Hiary's style is a blend of abstract, expressionist, pop, and primitive art. Her compositions are distinguished by the use of techniques within a single work, challenging stereotypes, and emphasizing political and social themes. Her work often focuses on portraying women in war and post-war contexts, depicting them as strong and resilient, capable of effecting change. Her style relies heavily on graphic elements such as line, pattern, and color.
In addition to painting, Hiary has produced murals, video art, and installations. Her works have been exhibited internationally, since the mid-1990s, in solo and group exhibitions in museums such as the Micro Museum, New York, the San Pedro Museum in Brazil, the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, the Algiers Museum, and in Saint Martin, London. She has received several awards, including the Second Asian Art Biennale Award in Bangladesh, First Prize in Installation Art at the Cairo International Biennale, and First Prize at the Tehran International Biennale.
