Her work explores Qatar’s rapid social and economic transformation, examining shifts in identity, technology and architecture. Inspired by traditional carpet-making techniques, she merges digital design with handcrafted woven textiles, reinterpreting historical patterns through contemporary aesthetics.
Al-Homaid’s work has been exhibited internationally, including at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art (Doha), UNESCO Headquarters (Paris), Alserkal Art Week (Dubai) and Lavan 541 Chelsea (New York). Notable exhibitions include MAJAZ (Mathaf, 2022), Spread Wisdom Not War (UNESCO Headquarters, 2022), DesignEAST (Alserkal Art Week, 2022) and Pearls of Wonder: US–Qatar Year of Culture (Lavan 541 Chelsea, 2022). She frequently collaborates with artists such as Levi Hammett, creating hand-dyed woven wool carpets that bridge heritage and modernity.
Through her innovative approach, Al-Homaid documents the evolving narratives of her homeland while fostering dialogue between past and present.
