Mohammad Al Jaloos Jordan, b. 1960

Mohammad Jaloos (b.1960, Amman Jordan) is a Jordanian painter, curator, and writer whose work explores memory, identity, and urban landscapes. He studied painting at the Jordan Institute of Fine Arts and holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Jordan. His artistic practice spans over four decades, with exhibitions across Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
Jaloos has held numerous solo exhibitions, including at Dar Al Anda Gallery (Amman), Musée des Métiers de Mercure (France), and the National Council for Culture & Arts (Kuwait). His participation in international biennials and symposiums, such as the Tehran Biennial, Kuwait Biennial, and the Mouscron International Festival of Fine Arts in Belgium, has established him as a significant figure in contemporary Arab art.
His large-scale public works include the iconic Birth mural in Amman and Mexican Mode in New York City. His paintings are held in esteemed collections, including the National Art Museum of China, the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, and the Museum of Modern Art in Kuwait. Beyond his visual practice, Jaloos has contributed extensively to art criticism and literature, publishing several books, including Faces from Within (2002) and Thirty Years in Painting(2010).
Jaloos has also played an influential role in Jordan’s art community, serving as President of the Jordanian Plastic Artists Association and as a jury member for regional and international art competitions. He continues to contribute as an advisor and curator for major artistic initiatives, including the Ayla International Art Symposium and CAB Art Gallery.
