Walid Ebeid (b.1970, Cairo), is a distinguished Egyptian artist known for his evocative and socially engaged work. He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Cairo in 1992, earning recognition among the top ten students at Helwan University.
Ebeid’s career began with early successes in the Youth Salon exhibitions, where he won both the Photography Award (1994) and the Encouragement Award (1995). Over the decades, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in Cairo, Zamalek, Kuwait, and Jordan, with significant showcases at venues like the Portrait Hall, Art Talks, and Dai Gallery. His work has also been featured in national exhibitions, including the General National Exhibition and themed showcases such as The Body at the Palace of Arts Hall (2011) and Egyptian Women (2012).
His contributions to contemporary Egyptian art have been recognized with prestigious awards, including the Cleopatra Grand Prize at the Siwa Ceremony (2014). His work is part of major collections at the Museum of Modern Art in Cairo, the National Center for Fine Arts, and various ministries and institutions. Additionally, his artwork is held in private collections across France, the UK, Norway, Italy, Russia, Spain, Brazil, Germany, and the Arab world.
