A Ceramic Celebration of Qatari Wedding Traditions.
In collaboration with Dar Hessa for Arts, Yawm Al-Sa‘ad, a ceramic exhibition reinterprets these objects and moments through the medium of ceramics, creating a dialogue between past and present and celebrating the power of art to bridge memory and modernity.
Across cultures, communities mark life’s major milestones - both joyful and solemn - through distinctive customs and rituals. Over time, these practices evolve into an intellectual and emotional legacy, offering younger generations a window into enduring forms of expression and meaning. In Qatar and the Gulf region, wedding rituals remain deeply rooted in authenticity and social identity, reflecting the essence of traditional community life.
From the Dazzah (the bride’s trousseau) to the henna night, when the bride is adorned with henna, gold, and traditional attire, and finally the Khillah, the fragrant preparation of the bride’s room, Qatari weddings embody a rich visual and cultural heritage.
