Does a painting begin with an idea? A feeling? Or with nothing at all?

In this hands-on workshop, Iraqi artist Omar Sharabi invites participants to explore the emotional and intuitive layers of painting. Together with the artist, participants will move beyond surface and technique - searching for meaning and colour, discovering the role of composition, and reflecting on how subtle decisions shape the soul of a painting.

• Where do you place an element and why?
• Can emptiness feel more truthful than fullness?
• What makes a colour honest, and not simply beautiful?
• Is a mistake part of the plan?
• When does the painting whisper, “I’m complete?”
