Nasser Hussein Syria, 1971

Born in Aleppo, Syria 1971, Nasser Hussein graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Damascus University. He continued his studies at the University of Siegen, and the Düsseldorf Academy of Arts, and received a scholarship from the Catholic Academic Exchange Service. He lives and works in Berlin.
Hussein's works explores themes of solitude and the attempt to alleviate it, depicting isolated individual experiences, even in fleeting and barely remembered moments. His works convey the profound feeling of solitude, often portraying two figures in a painting, appearing as if they are living in their own separate bubbles. Hussein’s distant, featureless characters exist in a void, presented with a satirical and poetic atmosphere.
He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including: the Academy Barenboim, in Berlin, Bad Berleburg Museum in Germany, Meem Gallery in Dubai, Tanit Gallery in Beirut, Agial Gallery in Beirut, and Mashrabia Gallery in Cairo. His work has also been shown in Aleppo, Amman, Bonn, Brussels, Damascus, Düsseldorf, Cologne, and Istanbul. Additionally, he has exhibited at the Cairo Biennale in Egypt, and the Latakia Biennale in Syria.
