Asma Sami Qatar, 1985

Asma Al-Mannai is a Qatari artist whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, sculpture, photography and design. With a background in business administration from Qatar University, her work reflects a deep commitment to creative exploration and cultural heritage. A member of the Qatar Fine Arts Society, Al-Mannai is also the founder of Draw Art Centre in Doha, a space dedicated
to nurturing artistic talent.
Her formative years were influenced by workshops at the Girls Creativity Centre, where she honed her skills and won first place in the Youth Salon competition in 2007. She later contributed to arts education by leading workshops for schools at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art from 2015 to 2018.
In 2019 she was selected for the prestigious Doha Fire Station Artist in Residence programme in Paris, where she developed a body of work inspired by her time abroad. Her recent artistic practice often explores themes of heritage, with a particular focus on purebred Arabian horses and traditional collectibles, and she has exhibited her work both within Qatar and internationally, continuing to foster artistic dialogue through both her practice and educational initiatives. Currently, she serves as an art teacher at Mathaf: Arab Museum
of Modern Art.
