Born in Iraq, Omar Al Shehabi is a painter and mixed-media artist with a BFA from Baghdad University. With a career spanning more than two decades, Al Shehabi is known for his bold colors, gestural figures, and the psychological depth of his work. His practice merges visual symbolism with personal introspection, exploring themes of movement, solitude, identity, and the passage of time. Often portraying figures in flux, his layered compositions invite viewers to confront what is unseen or unspoken. His work has been exhibited in solo and group shows across the Arab region, including at Anima Gallery in Doha and the French Cultural Center in Damascus. He is currently lives and works in Qatar.
